Jelly Roll ingredients, except jelly, plus:

  • 1/4 cup cocoa

Cinnamon Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup chilled whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons granulated or powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Chocolate Glaze (optional)

  • 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • About 2 tablespoons hot water


Prepare Jelly Roll as directed except as follows:

  • Beat in 1/4 cup cocoa with the flour.
  • Substitute Cinnamon Whipped Cream for jelly.
  • Drizzle roll with (optional) Chocolate Glaze instead of sprinkling with powdered sugar, and garnish with fresh fruit.


Cinnamon Whipped Cream: Beat chilled whipping cream, sugar, and cinnamon in chilled bowl until stiff.

Chocolate Glaze: Heat chocolate and margarine over low heat until melted. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until glaze is of desired consistency.
