Beef Dish, Version 2

Another beef dish; serve with Okra Dish, Potato Dish, and Masoor / Lentils.
- 1 1/2 onions, cut against the grain into thin slices
- Olive oil
- 1/3 garlic bulb, each clove peeled and sliced thinly
- 1 1/2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into 1” cubes
- 1” ginger root, diced
- 1 tomato, chopped into 1/2” pieces
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoon tandoori chicken BBQ mix
- 1 long (5”) green chili pepper, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon small brown lentils
- 2 potatoes, cut into eights, and sliced 1/2” thick
Saute onions in olive oil in large pot for approx 3 minute. Add garlic and continue sautéing for another 3 minutes. Add the beef – cook until meat is browned. Add ginger root, tomato, paprika, tandoori chicken BBQ mix, the diced chili pepper, onion seeds and lentils. Add 1 cup water. Cover and simmer on medium heat until meat is very soft. Add the potatoes along with 1 1/2 cups of water and continue to simmer for a half hour.
